2022 Norway; part 1: Bergen – Trondheim

Happy to finally be on the road again. After a long day with a lot of waiting I arrived on time in Bergen (No) πŸ™ I could send the cardboard box by mail to Alta – last destination of the trip. Then I was glad to turn the legs a bit, 20km went in the rain πŸŒ§οΈπŸŒ§οΈπŸ˜‚ to the center…. Perhaps it is surprising for some friends, the first day begins not in the saddle πŸ˜‚ ..sightseeing of the city “Bergen” and a small rain hike πŸŒ§οΈβ˜” at the local mountain “FlΓΈyen”.

Bergen – Trondheim #1

Conclusion at the start; a lot of water πŸ˜‚ Many beautiful lakes and streams, unfortunately also from above a lot πŸŒ§οΈπŸŒ§οΈβ˜”

Had to get how to use the Norwegian roads; on the one hand.. 🚳 – see picture – on the other hand the bumpy cycling paths πŸ™„πŸ˜¬

After the first ferry, fortunately, it became much easier. Small roads, little traffic, ..just roads which I liked πŸ™‚

And as you can see, the weather has unfortunately not changed 🌧️🌧️ Luckily I’m in a nice warm hotel with good dinner incl 🍺

Bergen – Trondheim #2

Conclusion to the day 2; fortunately I am not with the tent on the way. Today continuous rain πŸŒ§οΈπŸŒ§οΈβ˜” and with 10-12 degrees rather fresh.

I sent a few bike clothes (short) back home, because you’ll get wet rather from the rain than from sweating πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ The hotels are very good, often spacious rooms, ..incl. heating and / or hair dryer πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘ ..drying the washed bike clothes goes very well. Now I enjoy the evening in the dry, ..with food and 🍺 …in the background listening the raindrops 🌧️🌧️

Bergen – Trondheim #3

Just exactly 2.85 km I was not getting wet from above, ..in the tunnel between Lote and Nordfjordeid πŸ™ˆ In addition, temperatures between 7 and 10 degrees… πŸ™ˆ

The weather forecast looks a little better for the next few days πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™ If it does rain again tomorrow, I’m thinking of taking the bus to Trondheim 🀷🏻

Bergen – Trondheim #4

According to the weather forecast it should have stopped raining at about 9h, but finally I started at about 10.30 in the rain, and rode about 2 hours in the rain again πŸ™ˆ

Look at the photo 4.3! Switzerland could learn from Norway about “bike friendliness” πŸ™πŸ‘ ..and then, ..the highlight of the day, ..I could take off the rain pants 🀩 ..πŸ‘‰ and cycle the first km without rain pants πŸ™

On the ferry to Molde – the destination of the day’s stage – the weather unfortunately looked different again. At dinner, the rain is forgotten and northern impressions remain πŸ™πŸ‘

Bergen – Trondheim #5

The longest planned day trip with 156km is ridden. The tailwind blew me with 27km/h average through the Norwegian fjord landscape 🀩 Fortunately little rain, but unfortunately hardly sunshine.

I had to buy the food for dinner and breakfast 60km before the daily goal. No hotel nearby and on the campground was no possibility to buy food or drinks. But it’s quite a cozy cabin 😊

Bergen – Trondheim #6

Conclusion at the finish of the part “Bergen – Trondheim”; lots and lots of water from everywhere πŸŒ§οΈπŸŒ§οΈβ˜”πŸ€·πŸ»β™‚οΈπŸ™ˆ Today, I rode to Trondheim again in persistent rain and fresh temperatures…. πŸ™„

And also in Trondheim πŸŒ§οΈπŸŒ§οΈπŸŒ§οΈβ˜”πŸ€·πŸ»β™‚οΈ

Bergen – Trondheim 6.3

Now there’s first 2 days break πŸ‘‰ 🍽️🍷🍹
